Update on the Campaign
Video posted by AdvoCare on 15 Jan 11
The Kites team is continuing to chip away at getting KitesCampaigns.Org up and running at full speed. Without having done a formal launch yet we still seem to be picking up new members each week. Welcome!
Our recent work has involved tweaking the database, figuring out how to make the campaign pages be accessible to our partner groups, and building an online training center that will allow us to bring more people onto the site.
Our dream is to get ourselves out of the way so folks can control their campaigns without us slowing them down.
There are a bunch of ideas behind the platform: giving grassroots groups web power, building a shared database of activists, training folks in the use of radio and video, and creating a space for people to share and listen to stories about the U.S. criminal justice system. To get up to full speed we are going to need to build our Super Volunteer-base up.
We have some exciting projects about to come online representing New York State, Phone Justice issues, and possibly something bubbling in New Mexico and in Baltimore. The list keeps growing!!!!!
If you’re interested in volunteering in helping build the site out give us a holler. team@thousandkites.org
