I would suggest that your son request to be allowed to submit to pyschological evaluations because that what may be considered above all. You see a person can do many good things while in prison ( acontroled enviorment) but what about if released could he handle the changes, pepoles atitudes and rejection?...
You do not mention the crime he was convicted for, 23 years is a long time, I have known guys in for much longer.
